J. Jayson Phillips

J. Jayson Phillips received his Bachelors Degree in History from Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina, where he was selected as a member of Omicron Delta Kappa. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1995. Mr. Phillips is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and is authorized to practice law in the State and Superior Courts of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the North, Middle, and Southern Districts of Georgia, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida, the Eleventh Circuit United States Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Phillips joined the firm in 2004 and practices in all areas of civil litigation, real estate, and probate.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Phillips served for seven years as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia. In that capacity, Mr. Phillips served as a legal advisor to state law enforcement and criminal justice agencies and represented them in all aspects of state and federal civil litigation including habeas corpus, mandamus, drivers license suspensions, peace officer certifications, open records disputes, and numerous appeals. Additionally, Mr. Phillips served as a guest instructor at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. Prior to joining the Attorney General's Office, he served for a year-and-a-half as an Assistant Solicitor-General in the State Court of Augusta-Richmond County.

Mr. Phillips resides in Paulding County with his wife Jill and their two children. They are active members of Cedarcrest Church.
